Whitney Houston, an American singer with an incredible voice, died yesterday, February, 11. The singer was the most-awarded female artist of all time - she received, among others, six Grammy Awards, twenty-two American Music Awards, two Emmy Awards and thirty Billboard Music Awards. As one of the world's best-selling artists, she sold over 170 million albums, singles and videos worldwide. Houston's talent derived from her gifted family, including such prominent soul singers as her mother Cissy Houston, cousins Dionne Warwick and Dee Dee Warwick along with her godmother Aretha Franklin. Whitney Houston started singing at the age of 11 in New Jersey church's junior gospel choir. Her 1985 debut album entitled simply 'Whitney Houston' was regarded as the best-selling female artist's debut album. Houston's problems with alcohol, drug and medication addiction were reportedly triggered by her unhappy marriage...The artists made attempts to overcome her addictions and come back to singing...According to the people around her, the artist was on the right track to achieve her goals...
