The Orchestra is playing for the 20th time! The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is one the biggest non-profit charity organizations in Poland. It was founded in 1993 by Jerzy Owsiak. Each year the Orchestra collects money in order to provide hospitals with mediacal equipment. Each Grand Finale has its objective - the Orchestra's goals were, among others : children's cardio-surgery equipment, rescue of accident victims and prevention and early diagnosis of cancer in children. Millions of Poles donate their money to the organization; they put their coins and banknotes into special boxes carried by countless volunteers. In return they get a special sticker - a red heart, which is the symbol of the Orchestra.

The money is also collected thanks to numerous auctions....Polish celebrities put their valuable objects (for example medals, cups, musical instruments) up for auction.The Grand Finale is also a day of numerous free-of-charge concerts in Poland, which are transmitted on TV all day long. The Orchestra plays everywhere where the Polish live - in London, Nottingham, Paris, Berlin, etc. Almost every year brings a new financial record - everything makes us think that the result of the 19th Grand Finale ($16,499,157.81) is also going to be beaten!
